Momie et enfant ...

The Brisbane label Momie Et Enfant (that's "mummy and child" to those who need to brush up on their French!) made its official debut on the kids fashion scene at Mathilda's Market in November 2009 - and the reception to their range was a rousing one.  I've been meaning to tell you all about this business for quite some time.  Not too many designers are producing garments as, well ... ethereal as those in the label's first and current collection.  The way Candice of Momie Et Enfant expertly marries vintage inspiration with modern cutting edge cool is already turning heads. No doubt there will be plenty more "oooohs" and "aaaahs" uttered as people stop by the label's stall at Mathilda's Market in Brisbane on Saturday 20 February.

The Momie label is all about signature lace accents on beautiful applique singlets, angel wings on tanks, vintage look bloomers and other stunning pieces. Here's a sample of the kind of delicate and delicious creations you'll find.

This vintage birdy top comes in sizes 3 to 10.

For the younger princesses, these polka ruffle bloomers are so delicate, playful and pretty ... What better way to adorn the derriere of your precious babe!

For a summer frock that perfectly complements the smooth skin and sweet smiles of little girls, this vintage summer dress is just sublime ...

And don't worry, mums of bubs! It comes in your little one's size, too.

And try as I might (I won't be trying very hard!) I just don't think I'll be able to pass up this classic vintage tank for my Edie.

Designer Candice is momie by day to little Hugo, 3, and Lila, 1. But by 7pm, Candice metamorphoses into creative director extraordinaire of Momie Et Enfant! How lucky Hugo and Lila are to have a momie who can whip up the sort of creations being originated by this fashion label. We can't wait to see what they dream up next ...
